Cosmetic Ice-Cubes

The use of cosmetic ice-cubes gives much better result washing the face in the morning. This pleasant procedure rejuvenates the skin; smooths wrinkles, tightens pores and helps to create a natural flush.

Usually ice-cubes for wiping are made out of the water or herbal infusions, but not all herbs are suitable for different skin types. And tap water is not suitable for making ice cubes. The most acceptable way to get ice cubes is using mineral water.


There are only a few extracts of herbs that can be used for all skin types. These include chamomile, series, peppermint, St. John’s wart, sage and lime blossom.
It is easy to make ice cubes. 1 tbsp. of herbs mixed with a cup of boiling water and remained for half an hour. Then the infusion is poured into special ice-cube making tray and placed in the freezer. This type of ice-cubes can be useful not more than a week.

  • Normal skin

For normal skin vandal root is recommended. It can be mixed with plantain and most Yarrow. It can be mixed with Viola tricolor and pharmacy dill. Decoction of these herbs is recommended to keep not more than a week.

  • Dry skin

People who have dry skin can use ice-cubes that are made of berries, fruits and herbs. For getting a decoction for dry type of skin one can use blood-red hawthorn, Eleutherococcus senticosus and the root of the dandelion. Ice is prepared in the usual way and again should be used within a week. Cosmetic ice-cubes can be prepared from red berries:  3 tbsp. spoon berries are mixed with 2 cups of cold water. After 2-3 hours the resulting liquid should be filtered and put into the freeze.


For dry skin decoction made from growth of mountain ash is recommended. 2 tbsp. berries are mixed with a cup hot water. The decoction is pushed for about an hour and then frozen. These ice-cubes can be stored in the freezer no more than five days.

  • Oily Skin

Those who have oily skin are the most fortunate in the choice of herbs:  mountain arnica, calendula, Japanese Sophora, field horsetail, bloodroot erect. While preparing ice-cubes from these herbs, you can add the juice of fresh cucumber and a few drops of lemon juice.

  • Combined (mixed) skin

The people who have combined skin can use the herbs that both for normal and oily skin. They can be combined, but it is better not to use the juice of cucumber and lemon.
