Christian Dior Spring 2012 Collection

The latest haute couture collection from Dior is simply stunning. Bill Gaytten, which is responsible for the collection did a great job offering a great combination of uncombinable items. He preserved the mainstreams of Dior while adding a slight touch of creativity. The main novelty of the collection is the usage of X-ray forms. This allows the women to look more feminine while highlighting the perfectness of the female body.  While in some cases the form takes the collection items back to the retro style, then the inclusion of modern accessories gives the collection rather upgraded and freshened look.

The second trend basically used to even bitter the highlight made on the body is the use of the transparent materials. Here the transparent rolls covering the body resemble the female innocence. To fill in the attractiveness of the cloths, the designer decided to add floral prints to the transparent parts. This turns the elegant skirts and dresses into an entire artcraft. Overall the French elegance and uniqueness is something evident in the collection. The image of the independent, feminine and petite women seems to be the main intend of the designer.

The main colors of the collection remain the classical white, black and Dior-branded red, while this time we also see a small amount of creamy, caramel and violet highlights, which strongly interfere with white and black assemblies. As for the main materials we see not only classical laces and transparent items, but also some usage of leather-resembling materials and lots of sparkles. Let’s say that the diversity is fully covered by the haute couture collection.

The dresses and skirts used in the collection stay devoted to the trend of maxi most of the time, while the pencil skirt are also included. In contrast the cardigans and shirts are strongly conservative.
